Mela Levine

Mela Levine is a singer-songwriter from New Orleans whose music captures the charm and contradictions of life in Louisiana. Her debut album, Arson Below Sea Level (2025) earned recognition and support from Louisiana Entertainment, Crescent City Sounds, The American Federation of Musicians, and The Threadhead Cultural Foundation.

Known for her distinctive raspy voice and irreverent lyrics, Levine’s concept albums blend multiple New Orleans musical traditions with unexpected dry humor. Formerly a professional firefighter, she now chronicles the absurdity of still having to “put out fires” in her personal life… most of which she started.​

Levine lives with her beloved pet snake, Hero, and is currently crafting her sophomore album.
